Summer

Summer in Oberlin is hot and humid, and not nearly as windy as the winter.

Unless you like being by yourself for months on end, summer in Oberlin can be rather painful if you're not going to have any friends in the immediate vicinity.

Since most students know that, your chances of finding a job aren't too bad. Check out How to find summer internships/research/jobs.

[edit] Events in Oberlin

There are lots of events that go on in Oberlin during the summer. What are they? Not many college kids know... Add some if you do.

[edit] Campus Programs

Students who do stay on campus tend to work in conjunction with the college. Different departments often hire interns or research assistants to help professors with ongoing projects.

WOBC has special summer programming. Students staying over the summer are welcome to apply for summer radio show slots.

The Bike Co-op also employs two students over the summer (and occassionally an Oberlin High School intern) to fix and revamp the bikes rented by students over the school year.

The Office of Admissions also hires students during the summer to give tours and complete other odd jobs.
