Quaalude City

Quaalude City was America's premiere fauxmosexual drum machine pop cover duo in Oberlin. It was founded by Grant Valdes and Jonathon Feinberg in Winter Term '07. The two have been joined onstage by a robust cast of Oberlin musical royalty, including Brendan Renne, Matt Santoro, Jami Creason, Baraka Noel, Sam Sax, Snake Collins, Kerry Kallberg and Jon Good. The goal of Quaalude City was to be as crowd-pleasing, gimmicky, manic and spiritually void as possible, and in that regard they were a wild success, whoring themselves out to last-minute house party appearances almost every weekend, opening for Matt & Kim at the 'Sco, and being generally amazed at how much more people liked their jokey side project than they liked their "important" bands (The Empty Mirror and Headless Body in a Topless Bar).
