Peter Slowik

A professor of Viola, Peter Slowik is also the director of the Strings department. He has previously been the principal violist of the American Sinfonietta, Smithsonian Chamber Orchestra, Concertante di Chicago, Chicago Sinfonietta, Orchestra of Illinois, Chicago Chamber Orchestra, Wichita Symphony Orchestra, Basically Bach Festival, and a violist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Rochester Philharminic Orchestra and the Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra.

He has performed as a soloist with the XXI International Viola Congress, Miami City Ballet, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Galena Chamber Ensemble, and Basically Bach Festiva, and as a chamber musician with Anner Bylsma and Leonard Rose, the Mirecourt Trio, the Vermeer Quartet, the Smithsonian Chamber Players, and members of the Cleveland, Chester, Orford, and Smithson quartets.
