OSCA/College Liaison
OSCA/College Liaison is an All-OSCA job.
[edit] General Responsibilities
The OCL’s main job is to mediate the relationship between Oberlin College and OSCA and facilitate clear, productive dialogue, particularly around Rent Contract issues. This means making sure the College understands how OSCA is set up and where OSCA is coming from, and educating OSCA about what the College expects and where the College is coming from. This also means being a resource for Oberlin College as to the structure of OSCA. A key issue is the OSCA- College Rent Contract, and ensuring that both parties complying with the Agreement and, if they aren’t, facilitating discussions about how to resolve the problem. The other focus of the Liaison’s responsibilities is maintaining our institutional/operational memory and coordinating long-range planning. This includes documenting any larger changes in the relationship between OSCA and the College and how they affect OSCA. It also involves developing long-range plans for OSCA and implementing strategies to help OSCA maximize its current and future prospects and ensure that OSCA’s interests are well-represented in the College’s changing plans.
[edit] Qualifications
Experience in an OSCA leadership position strongly suggested (this could be any All-OSCA position, DLEC, HLEC, Board Rep, or Rent Contract Negotiating Team.) Experience living in a co-op is recommended.
