Mindfair

Mindfair is Oberlin's used book store. They tend to stock a wide mix of books including academic and non-academic non-fiction, children's books, literature, foreign language books, some textbooks, and just about whatever else comes their way. Locally owned by real people, mindfair is a pretty good place to buy from. They are colocated with Ben Franklin.

Mindfair is also the home of Mindfair Upstairs, which is trying to establish itself as a sort of coffeeshop hangout for Oberlin. Some students and residents will remember the now defunct Oberlin Music as the previous attempt at establishing a non-college-owned coffee and snack serving hang-out/store. Hopefully Mindfair Upstairs will meet a better fate.

Mindfair is also an excellent place to buy text books, though you'll want to go in as soon as possible since they often have to order them special for you. The advantage, of course, is a significantly lower price. They also sometimes buy back books for a better price, especially if a new edition is coming out, if the class won't be offered again next semester, or if the book has a low retail value.
