Description from course catalog

This class explores the role of the media in American politics. Students will consider the media’s influence on citizens, candidates, and policy-makers as well as learn about the government’s approach to media regulation and censorship. Attention will also be given to investigating how the relationship between the media, citizens, and politicians is changing in the ‘new media age’ where cable TV, the internet, partisan documentaries, and even daytime and late night talk shows are gaining political prominence.
