Keep Cottage
- (This page is about the living co-op; for the dining co-op, see Keep Co-op.)
A living co-op that holds 54 students in singles and open doubles. There is a dining co-op on the first floor. Part of the basement is home to the Bike co-op, accessible at the back of the building facing the Stevenson parking lot.
Keep's HLECs for 2008-09 are Isabel Roth and Tyler Stoll.
Keep has been involved in a long-standing engagement with Harkness. Marching under the standard of Odin's Raven, the viking hordes have made successful forays into the lands of Harkness and Tank, carrying off much booty and lounge furniture. This thriving plunder economy has become an issue of social discussion. Recently (Spring '08) Keep put up a coordinated and stalwart defense against the overwhelming number of Harkness' Redwall hordes.
Keep is an old house and has a sweet attic, home to the occasional bat, as well as a dumb waiter and some secret rooms for the odd shennaniganery. The Charleston Heston lounge, a long hallowed space, was graced with a poop in the toilet, cigar butt, an empty scotch tumbler, and a pile of dead ninjas following his death and clearly still functions as a gateway for his soul.
A Beer Wall occupies the North wall of the lounge. Though inferior to Tank's in quantity, the Keep wall is organized by Country/Brewery and contains no duplicates.

In my experience, Keep is where the party's at. -- adcjordan (1 Oct 2006)

“As someone who's lived in all of the co-ops, minus Old B (which isn't available to first years for living, anyways), I have to recommend Keep for first years. It's what I did. It's cozy and very communal- 54 people live there with an additional 20 diners. It straddles being on campus and being by itself- its back shares the parking lot with stevie and asia house, but it faces main street- so while you feel more "freedom" being in the co-op, you still are on campus.” --

Keep seemed nice when I ate there. The community was okay if you lived there, but wasn't as good if you just eat there (may be true for any co-op). Again the accomodations are nice although the rooms are kinda smallish. In nice poximity to various places on north campus and is meat-friendly (well, the co-op doesn't object to eating meat, but if you want meat regularly you better go eat in CDS). --anonymous [2]
