John Donaldson was a tenured professor at Case Western Reserve University, but found the Oberlin students much more deck. He did not want to go through the arduous tenure process again, and so he made an arrangement with the Oberlin College Computer Science program, which would undoubtedly have allowed him tenure, to stay as a permanent "Visiting Professor." A very nice guy, and good at explaining things in class. —Xander 13:47, 3 Apr 2005 (CDT)

He looks like Che!

umm.. i love the Che Donaldson picture, but it should be noted briefly that this image is based on an old photo of JD someone found online, and he currently sports a whole lot less hair, thus causing him to look rather different. Also, I think he's a very nice guy and very good teacher. jkimmel 00:32, 16 Jan 2006 (EST) JD also knows everything about everything when it comes to Computer Science, and his assignments are often tons of fun debugging pain. In some courses he requires that you simulate lower-level algorithms, and those are pretty fun. Operating Systems with JD is da bomb!

he knows everything! Wjohnald 10:34, 4 March 2007 (EST)
