[edit] Description from course catalog

Two basic considerations determine the course content. First is the history and methods of connoisseurship, which is a means of reaching conclusions relative to the authenticity, authorship, date and cultural origins of a specific art object. Second is the close, analytical visual investigation of selected works of art in the collection of the Allen Memorial Art Museum.
