Coffee

Lots of Oberlin students like coffee. There are lots of places to get it...

Over the weekends, the college becomes a strange no-coffee zone, with the Science Center closure and DeCafe not opening till 4 p.m. Walk to town or buy a coffee maker for your room/house if you are a real addict.

[edit] The Slow Train Cafe

Best espresso in town.

[edit] Black River Cafe

Prices: ?

Beans from Crooked River Coffee.

[edit] Java Zone

Prices: Small: $1, Large: $1.50 (?)

[edit] The Oberlin Market

Prices: ?

That's the place in the parking lot behind downtown. They used to have very tasty do-it-yourself French presses, if you weren't ordering to go.

They sell beans but don't have a grinder.

[edit] Decafe

Prices: ?

Beans from Crooked River Coffee. They've got several flavors, from normal to seasonal (pumpkin spice at the moment).

You get a nice discount if you bring your own mug, like those tan Oberlin ones or the weird-shaped red Library ones!

They sell beans for $8.99 a pound (ouch).

Unfortunately, the coffee is also weak and tastes like some filtered hot water through a dry maple leaf. If you're used to having good, strong coffee, bring a nice coffee maker and your own beans to Oberlin and make it yourself.

[edit] The Coffee Cart

A limited range of the flavors available at Decafe, for the same prices.

[edit] Dining halls

All the coffee you could ever want, if you actually wanted it. The joke is that the coffee served at the Dining Halls is actually all decaf, but is labeled as regular and decaffeinated; the dining services claim it is a liability to serve regular coffee there.
