Bug House

214 West College used to be called Bug House because it was the Big, Ugly, Green House. Now, with the addition of white vinyl siding over its rotting wood, it is just called Bug House because it's called Bug House.

Apparently, the owner of the house (noted Oberlin, ah, landlord Dennis Johnson) has been trying to sell Bug House for a rather pretty penny, despite rather serious structural flaws (e.g., the house falling apart).

As of the summer of 2006, Rocky River landlord Mary Corrigan has purchased the so-called Bug House and has worked on repairs and refurbishing. It's still a little shoddy, but it's now actually a pretty nice place to live. 72.75.78.55 18:41, 11 June 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Notable Bug House historical events

  • The party where the first-floor ceiling/second-floor floor was bouncing.
    • Solution: no more dance parties on the second floor.
  • The party where the first-floor floor/basement ceiling was bouncing and eventually collapsed. (That was a fun party...)
    • Solution: a series of joists (basically, giant car jacks) in the basement, holding up the floor.
