A professor of Hispanic Studies, Barbara Sawhill is also the director of the Cooper International Learning Center and president of the International Association for Language Learning Technology. She typically teaches one course a year: Communication in a Spanish-Speaking World in which her students utilize technology such as iPods, Skype, and online blogs to communicate and complete an individual project while maintaining contact with native speakers throughout the world. Her work with Barbara Ganley of Middlebury College has primarily focused on how students learn best and challenging the traditional roles of student and teacher.
